Ofsted Reports

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very pleased to share with you the Ofsted report following the recent inspection of Twydall Primary School and Nursery in May. Staff have worked tirelessly to improve the culture and provision for our pupils, and we are delighted that our school has been judged as ‘Good’ for the first time since 2012.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and commitment to our pupils, through the many changes required to improve their education. I would also like to acknowledge the children themselves who the inspectors recognised as being ‘friendly and polite to peers’, as well as being fully inclusive and respectful of each other’s’ differences.  We are very proud of the values that our pupils display and the resilience that has supported them through a challenging few years of disrupted learning through the pandemic.  We should not underestimate the impact that this has had on our pupils and staff, but we recognise how hard our community have pulled together to get back on track and to support one another.

The senior leaders of the school, Mrs Hardie, Mrs Roscoe and Mrs Symons, all played a key role in the inspection and are now fully equipped to take the school forward on its’ improvement journey. There is still much to do at Twydall to move beyond ‘good’, but we know that with your continued support and by working together we can make our school the very best it can be for the children in our care.

The report can be found on the school website and will published on the Ofsted website shortly.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Wilmer

Director of Education
